Stimulus Payment Check (from the IRS) QUESTION: I haven’t filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and don’t need to file tax returns for those years. I receive Social Security, SSI, Railroad Retirement, or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits. What do I need to do to get a Payment? (updated April 24, 2020) IRS ANSWER: You are not required to file a tax return and will automatically receive a $1,200 Payment if you received Social Security retirement, SSDI, survivors benefits, SSI, Railroad Retirement benefits, or VA Compensation and Pension (C&P) benefits in 2019. You do not need to contact the IRS, Social Security Administration (SSA), the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) or Veterans Affairs. The IRS will use the information from your 2019 benefits to generate a Payment to you if you did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019. You will receive your Payment as a direct deposit or by mail, just as you would normally receive your federal benefits.

TIP FOR WHEN THE EAR STRAPS ON YOUR FACE MASK DO NOT FIT OR ARE UNCOMFORTABLE: 1. cut a strip of old t shirt material about an inch and a half wide and about a foot long. 2. tug on it to make it stretch and curl up on the edges. 3. lay the mask face down. 4. feed the new strip through each ear loop, bring the ends together and tie it (Keeping it loose enough so it forms a loop with an opening that you can get over your head.) 5. lift it up and bring it down over your head like a turtleneck sweater 6. place mask on face so the top is over your nose and making sure the ear loops go both above and below your ears 7. reach back, untie the strap ends just enough to be able to re-tie it to fit properly.
